Meet Cyndy

After working in Yellowstone Park for many years, I settled in Bozeman where I have spent the last 10 years working for the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce as the Convention and Visitor Bureau Director. In May 2011 I left the chamber and started my own consulting business helping small communities in Montana develop their tourism product.

Cyndy Andrus - Bozeman City Commission

Cyndy Andrus

I serve on two Governor appointed councils— the Montana Arts Council and the Tourism Advisory Council—as well as the Citizen Advisory Council for Fish, Wildlife, Parks, working with people from varying education, economic, political and social backgrounds. I am a graduate of the 2007 class of Leadership Montana.

I have used much of my leadership and board experience in my current role as a City Commissioner to lead by listening and collaborating, which results in effective decision making. I am good problem solver and an independent thinker. I like hard work, success and a good laugh. I am committed to a process of informed discussion and nonpartisan problem solving.

I am running for a full four year term on the Bozeman City Commission because I enjoy the work of public service. I love Bozeman and have learned so much since my appointment, by listening to citizen concerns, by my participation on the Commission, and by simply stepping into the leadership role required of a Commissioner. I am much more appreciative now of the decisions made by commissioners before me and the impacts those decisions have had (both positive and negative) on the quality of life in our community. I want to continue this work as a City Commissioner making decisions for this community that sustain or improve the quality of life we all enjoy.

I am happily married to former Montana Legislator Brady Wiseman. When I am not working, you will find me trying some new recipe or inventing my own, enjoying a cross country ski trip, working at my family business-Andy’s Grille at the Minnesota State Fair or camping in our antique Volkswagen Van.
